## Farmers’ group says transport costs keep food prices high despite harvest

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria linked high food prices in several states to transport costs, even as the harvest season was under way.

Punch reported that September food inflation varied sharply by state: Lagos recorded a 34.40% annual rise, while Taraba’s prices were lower than a year earlier. The association’s president said transport expenses were limiting the benefit of harvests reaching markets.
