VivoPower PLC and UAE-based Open Innovation AI signed definitive heads of agreement in Abu Dhabi on 21 October to explore secure sovereign AI data centres across the Nordics, mainland Europe, the GCC and selected Asian countries. They cited an opportunity exceeding 40 GW in Europe and a target of at least 1 GW over three years; these are market and partnership targets, not contracted capacity. VivoPower is to lead sites, power procurement and operations, while Open Innovation AI provides AI orchestration, operations and security. Individual projects require separate agreements and remain subject to sites, power, finance, customers, government demand and regulatory approvals.
