Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) said on 5 October 2026 that the first Guinean bauxite shipment under its renewed agreement with Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée was en route to the UAE. About 66,000 tonnes were loaded onto a Panamax vessel at Kamsar in late August; the shipment was not reported as delivered.
The renewed agreement provides for up to 4.9 million tonnes of bauxite per year through 2044. EGA, Guinea Alumina Corporation and Guinea reached a definitive settlement in May concerning the cessation of GAC activities and interrupted supplies; it closed in late August after conditions were met. Guinea’s mines minister linked the first renewed shipment to the relationship following that settlement.
