# Dana Gas and Levidian start graphene production in Sharjah

Dana Gas and Levidian said on 7 October 2026 that their first LOOP 20 unit at Sharjah Graphene Park had been commissioned and was producing graphene. The operating unit has annual capacity of more than 1 tonne, and prospective customers are trialling the product and discussing offtake.

The LOOP 60 and LOOP 100 units are under construction in the UK. Once commissioned, they are expected to raise capacity to more than 10 tonnes per year before the end of 2026. Dana Gas said the initial LOOP 20 phase cost less than US\$1 million. LOOP uses microwave plasma to convert methane into hydrogen and solid carbon graphene.
