Abu Dhabi launched a programme of 17 initiatives for beekeeping and honey production, announced on 8 October during Global Food Week. Measures include beekeeper and hive registration and licensing, forage-area management, local honeybee breeding, research, disease monitoring and honey-quality certification. ADAFSA said that from 2015 to 2025 it bred 10 generations and produced about 25,000 queen bees; around 19,000 were distributed to 613 beekeepers across the UAE. These are historical programme outcomes; the initiative sets future sector-support and export aims, not a honey-output forecast. WAM published the report on 9 October.
