Scope of the official announcement
ENKA reported 21% overall EPC progress on the Bazian II combined-cycle conversion project as of mid-September.
Mechanical work stood at 7%; these percentages describe project progress, not commissioned generating capacity.
Voltformer analysis
Combined-cycle conversion links gas turbines, steam systems and existing plant interfaces. EPC and mechanical percentages can have different bases. Clear reporting periods and scopes prevent progress from being misread as commissioned capacity or start-up completion.
Considerations for project teams
Construction progress is best tracked separately for site preparation, installation, testing and operational handover. A single completion percentage cannot explain drawing approvals, material deliveries, permits or dependencies between disciplines. Work on an operating facility also needs coordination with the operator and planned shutdown windows. A useful project register links each milestone to an accountable party and its acceptance evidence. This helps teams distinguish an advancing work package from a completed facility and identify the interfaces most likely to affect the next activity.
