Dana Gas e Levidian hanno annunciato il 7 ottobre 2026 che la prima unità LOOP 20 allo Sharjah Graphene Park è stata avviata e produceva grafene. L’unità operativa ha una capacità annua superiore a 1 tonnellata; potenziali clienti stanno testando il prodotto e discutendo gli acquisti.

Le unità LOOP 60 e LOOP 100 sono in costruzione nel Regno Unito. Una volta avviate, dovrebbero portare la capacità a oltre 10 tonnellate l’anno entro la fine del 2026. Dana Gas ha dichiarato che la fase iniziale LOOP 20 è costata meno di US\$1 milione. LOOP usa plasma a microonde per convertire il metano in idrogeno e grafene di carbonio solido.
