ACME Solar and Juniper Green Energize Over 538 MWh of Utility-Scale BESS Across Rajasthan Substations
Indian clean power developers ACME Solar and Juniper Green Energy have commissioned over 538 MWh of grid-connected battery storage across critical transmission nodes in Rajasthan, energizing a 107.4 MW / 437.5 MWh BESS at the Neemuch substation and 100.6 MWh at Bikaner Phase II to curb renewable curtailment.

Large-Scale Storage Commissioning at Critical Interstate Hubs
On September 30, 2026, ACME Solar operationalized two utility-scale battery energy storage systems totaling 107.36 MW and 437.49 MWh connected directly into the interstate transmission system (ISTS) Neemuch pooling substation.
Concurrently, Juniper Green Energy’s subsidiary energized a 100.64 MWh battery system integrated into the Bikaner Phase II high-voltage substation yard. Together, these systems establish over 538 MWh of dispatchable storage buffering high-density solar generation in western India.
Step-Up Transformers and Thermal Conditioning Systems
Both projects utilize modular containerized lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) chemistry coupled to dedicated 33/400 kV outdoor step-up transformers with low dielectric losses and forced-liquid cooling systems engineered to withstand summer desert temperatures exceeding 50°C.
The installations feature advanced battery management systems (BMS) with sub-second frequency response algorithms to arrest rate-of-change-of-frequency (RoCoF) events and provide evening solar peak displacement.
Unlocking Green Power Wheeling to National Demand Centers
By absorbing midday solar over-generation, the storage assets resolve severe transmission line thermal overload along the Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh grid corridor, wheeling firm renewable power during peak night hours.
